Shipping & Payment FAQs
1. Who is selling the items on Artebys.com?
Arteby’s is an online marketplace. Our aim is to connect buyers and sellers from across the globe. Our sellers generally include private collectors, antique dealers or resellers. The seller is thoroughly verified through our registration process for sellers. The seller submits the form with images of his items and our experts provide their expert opinion and allocate the approved lots to auction. In addition, our online shop only allows for registered business and artist to sell via the shop.
2. I see a pro tag next to the name of the seller on bidding page. What is this?
If a pro tag is assigned next to the name of the seller, it means that the legal entity selling the product is a professional dealer or registered business.
3. How do I know if the seller is legitimate?
Please be ensured that we carry out extensive process to validate our sellers. Additionally, you pay to Arteby’s first and we pay out the sellers once the item has been shipped. Additionally, we also have a review system which rates the sellers once they sell via the platform. As we are at an early stage, most of our sellers are professional dealers or collectors who we have close relationship with.
4. I have just won an item in the auction. How do I pay?
Once you have won the item, you will receive an email confirmation from Arteby’s along with a link to pay online.
5. Is the payment process safe?
Yes. We utilize Norton SSL and stripe payment gateway which ensures secure and seamless payment. In addition you pay to Arteby’s first and we pay out to the seller once the item has been shipped.
6. I have paid for the item. How will my shipment be done?
Once you have paid for the item, Arteby’s will send you an email confirming that the seller has shipped the item. In addition, you will receive an email to correspond with the seller.
7. What happens if my shipment does not arrive or if the item has issues (broken/as not per description)?
On such occasion, we will coordinate with the seller and attend to the issue. Please note that you pay to Arteby’s first & then we pay out to the seller in few weeks to ensure effective process. Additionally, all item above $200 include insurance price in the shipping cost.
8. How does shipping & Payment work for the online shop?
The payment process works in a similar manner as described above. You will receive a link to pay for the item. Shipping will be done by the seller -in this case a professional dealer or artist.
9. I am a seller but I don’t understand how much the shipment will cost?
Please ensure you check postal website or coordinate with Courier Company to understand the cost to respective areas. While submitting the form, you will be required to quote for the items shipping cost to different countries. The same cost will appear to the user based in his location. All items above $200 must include insurance in the shipping quote.
10. My item has been sold. How do I receive the payment?
The buyer is obliged to pay within 3 days of the sale. Once the payment has been made, we notify the seller to ship the items. Once the items have been shipped, Arteby’s will send you the payment to your account details provided in your profile section. It can take up to 26 days to receive the payment. Usually we try to pay within 2 weeks.
